Home Run
This film was produced through the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
synopsis: out on the Australian outback roads the long haul trucks, ablaze with light, sail through the night with their loads. At the helm of one is a father, Chris Penfold, who is ever on the move in search of his next pickup or stop. Back at home, his young son Hayden, plays at being on the road too. But as much as he loves trucks, Hayden wants to see his dad more. It’s a cycle that has repeated through generations – Chris’s father, Dennis, is also a truckie. But Chris is increasingly away – small family owned businesses like his are under threat as rising fuel prices, big transport companies and low rates drive them into the ground. Will Hayden still dream of driving trucks like his dad?
